About
**The Eightfold Wheel of the Year** is a full program that you can do at your own pace if you want to learn more about nature through the teachings of the Druid path. This course goes into great detail about the eight major festivals that mark the changes in the natural year. It has a mix of historical facts, spiritual practices, and hands on activities that will help you get in tune with the rhythms of the Earth. This class doesn't tell you how to do certain rituals or myths in a certain way. Instead, it encourages you to learn about the eight seasonal festivals and find your own way to get in sync with the earth's rhythms. Through a series of lessons, personal reflections, and guided observations, you'll learn how to connect with these changes in a way that is meaningful to you and helps you connect with other people. **Origins and Influence of the Eightfold Wheel** The Eightfold Wheel is a key part of modern pagan and druidic traditions. Gerald Gardner was the first to make it widely known. His time in Asia, where he learned to deeply respect Eastern spiritual practices, may have led to the Wheel being similar to the Buddhist Dharma Wheel. This makes the Eightfold Wheel historically important because it connects symbols from different cultures while honouring the natural cycles that the Celts held dear. We at the Order of Druids use the Eightfold Wheel as a guide to help us connect more deeply with the rhythms of nature. Every festival encourages us to pay attention to the land and interact with it, which helps us be more mindful, balanced, and healthy. We know that the Wheel is a modern creation and not an exact replica of a historical model, but it is still a useful and meaningful guide that encourages each person to celebrate the seasons in their own way. **Individuals under 18 may only participate in this course if accompanied by an adult at all times. Participation by minors without adult supervision is strictly prohibited.**
